The relative truth about peace is that within creation, only gradient levels of peace are possible. Within this manifest world, the realm of phenomena and movement, you can only become relatively more at peace. The true shift to perfect peace only occurs when we shift our being into the realm of emptiness and non-movement, the original void, the Source, the primordial backdrop from which the whole of creation arises. In the relative plane, there are two pathways that need attention in the pursuit of peace. The first pathway clears the content of our unresolved past, the second is learning to be at peace no matter what content arises here and now.
First Pathway to Relative Peace
Each person brings into this life a different degree of content to resolve. We carry over issues from our ancient past into the present. We carry over patterns of behaviour that require balancing and realignment; these are our lifetime to lifetime soul patterns. We carry over our negative karmas, the effects of our past actions seeking for energetic resolve and release. We also bring our agreements for learning, these are the major and minor lessons outlined in our soul’s blueprint or higher plan. All of our negative thoughts and emotions belong to different inner pathways of learning. In clearing all of this carried over content and negativity in our system, we become increasingly more empty and therefore more at peace. This is the first pathway towards relative peace.
Second Pathway of Relative Peace
The second pathway is cultivating peace no matter what we are facing. It is our moment-to-moment approach to living, how we relate to reality. Whether we are clearing issues around the past, present or future, we are coming from a place of quietude. Our salvation does not lie in becoming free of problems, but being at peace with any and all problems. There is no rush to get anywhere because the waves of life do not stop washing upon the shore of our awareness. We are fully present, aware of every nuance in feeling and experiencing as our intelligence evolves with every incoming wave. No matter how extreme, difficult, painful or disturbing the external situation, our internal stance is one of a witnessing consciousness. Our hearts are open so we are touched by life, but on another level, we are untouched. A space of awareness divides us from full identification with the outer story; the experiencer knows himself to be separate from the experience. In this second pathway, peace is not a function of resolving content, but the result of abiding in a higher awareness.
Pathway of Absolute Peace
The pathway of absolute peace only occurs when we enter the realm of the soul. This goes beyond just the practice of a higher awareness, it goes beyond just keeping the experiencer dis-identified from the experience. Absolute peace occurs when your awakening deepens to such a degree that you expand beyond the realm of presence and enter into the realm of absence. You expand beyond the realm of the manifest and enter the unmanifest, the realm of absence, the primordial void from which creation is born. Only when you relocate beyond this realm, do you become a truly liberated witness. It is the difference between waking up inside the dream vs. waking up inside your bed. The difference is not just vast, but quantum. The liberated witness must stand outside this realm to yield absolute peace. Relative peace is still when witnessing occurs within this realm. You are still part of the world, you are just living existentially deeper than the world, so you are free from it.
In the absolute pathway, you are actually lifted off the screen upon which life is projected. You are watching freely from your seat as an audience member in the theatre of your own life. What happens on this screen is inconsequential; you can never be threatened by its contents, as life is now experienced as no more real than a dream. War, tragedy, comedy, horror, drama, action, sci-fi are all animated on your screen of consciousness which has now become mirror-like, holding no prejudice or preference, receiving all impressions equally.
This freedom is as result of relocation into the realm of absence, emptiness and non- movement. Relocation can only happen to the soul. The ego cannot relocate. Only the soul can reach the Source. Relocation occurs through the three centers of the soul, through her consciousness, being and heart. When the soul initially becomes realized, it happens on the side of presence. Eventually her awakening reaches a sense of containment wherein expansion into the realm of absence is needed in order to reach evolutionary equilibrium and full realization. When the three centers of the soul are all absorbed in Samadhi in the Source, then the state of absolute peace is thus born.
In summary, the relative pathway towards peace is two-fold. The first pathway clears unresolved content one issue at a time, moving us towards the peace of increased emptiness within. This clearing makes us more available to the present and freer from the past, so we can begin working on higher evolutionary goals. The second pathway cultivates a higher awareness that is not identified or disturbed by what is passing through. In this dimension of evolution, where the growth of energy and intelligence is continuous, the opportunities to learn and process are endless. This path is courageous because we are still operating from within the dream, and yet finding the will to go through anything.
In the absolute pathway, we wake up from the dream and take a quantum leap through time and space, relocating into the primordial void, the source of creation. Here, we experience earthly reality from her beloved parent, the Source. We are no longer the human trying to attain the peace of the soul, rather, we are the soul experiencing her human aspect express in the world. Here, we are truly in the world but not of this world. This last pathway takes the form of meditation, which by and by opens the way towards pure and perfect peace.
